Application

Alinea WBS 125 acts primarily as an antifoam agent and drainage aid and can be added at various stages during the paper manufacturing process, generally prior to air entrainment or foam formation. Alinea WBS 125 is mainly applied to the wet end of paper machines but can also be effective during bleaching and in effluent treatment operations.

Alinea WBS 125 complies with FDA regulation 21 CFR 176.210, Defoaming agents used in the manufacture of paper and paperboard.

Alinea WBS 125 also has application for other industrial processes as a defoamer/antifoam when use of oil or silicone containing products is undesirable.

Alinea WBS 125 is typically used neat.

However, in some applications to achieve better dispersion a dilution is recommended. We recommend a pre-dilution of 1:1 to 1:3 in cold water. The diluted emulsion, however, should be used immediately. Extended storage time is not recommended for a dilution of Alinea WBS 125. If a dilution will experience an extended time period prior to use, it is recommended to use a thickener (rheological stabilizer) to prevent separation of the dilution and a preservative to prevent microbiological activity.

The target viscosity of the dilution should be in the following range: 800 to 2000 centipoise. (final viscosity is always dependent on the application and handling of the end use product):

Product dilutions exhibiting separation can generally be remixed and used without loss of performance.
